With nearly 35 years of experience, we’ve become a trusted leader in Greater Boston, offering sheet metal fabrication, BIM coordination, and VDC-driven project management.
Headquartered in Rockland, MA, we specialize in logistically complex projects, backed by a full-service shop and a commitment to craftsmanship, technology, and service.

Today, 90% of our work comes from repeat clients—a testament to our collaborative, results-focused approach.

Leadership Team

Tom Scolaro

President & CEO

Tom Scolaro began his career in 1982 at CJ Muldoon doing duct layout for Navy ships after he graduated from Quincy Vocational Technical High School where he studied radical and parallel line development. He then joined Harrington Brothers where he trained in the basics of sheet metal including shop lay-out, drafting, project management and estimating. In 1983, he was accepted into the Local 17 apprentice program and finished first place the sheet metal competition two of the four years. He attended Northeastern University and Wentworth, earning certificates in CAD and refrigeration respectively, while also studying estimating and HVAC design.

Tom founded United HVAC in 1991 in Stoughton Massachusetts, strategically growing the business from a small shop to a multimillion-dollar operation. His knowledge of the Sheetmetal industry is unparalleled due to his strong background in the field complemented by his extensive experience in estimating, drawing, and project management. Tom’s quest for industry knowledge and his receptiveness to technological advancements makes United a cut above its competitors. At United HVAC, expectations are set high in drawing, fabrication and installation for all projects, giving United a reputation for its ability to plan and execute logistically difficult HVAC assignments in the Greater Boston area.
